General Dannatt gives his support to Phones for Heroes

In February, Phones for Heroes was lucky enough to receive a visit from General Sir Richard Dannatt, former Chief of the General Staff and founder Patron of Help for Heroes. General Dannatt has been involved with Help for Heroes since the beginning in 2007 and it was an honour to meet him. His visit was to find out more about how this Norfolk based project is supporting Help for Heroes. He was given a tour of the workshop and saw firsthand the latest batch of donations being processed.

General Dannatt said, “I think that Phones for Heroes is a most imaginative way of helping those who have been injured doing their duty in the Armed Forces in difficult and dangerous places, and of disposing of those unwanted mobile phones.” He encourages everyone to dig out those unwanted mobile for the cause, “Everyone has a role to play, if it means going to the cupboard and sending in an old mobile phone then every bit helps, however small.”

The visit was covered by the EDP and the subsequent requests for freepost envelopes was overwhelming. We would like to extend a very big thank you to General Dannatt for taking the time to visit and support us. We would also like to thank Kathryn at the EDP for a wonderful article and her continued support to this cause. Find the article here
